Life at APU

Student Life at APU

Being a university student can be one of your most exciting expeditions. Higher education opens up a world of new ideas, intellectual growth, social, sporting and cultural activities, new adventures and the building of lifelong friendships. Here at APU, we support you to take the time to explore not only the educational experiences but also the wide range of social, sporting and cultural activities on campus.

It is important to take time for sports and exercises to keep your physical well-being. Engaging in moderate sports activities will help you gain physical, social and mental health.

Our indoor social and recreation space is a place for you to relax and unwind outside class and lab hours. You can engage in games such as table tennis, football, pool and board games such as checkers, chess and caroms.

Our campus is situated near the National Sports Complex in Bukit Jalil, giving you access to world-class sports facilities for swimming, football, hockey, squash and a host of other physical activities.

In addition, the Technoflex Club of TPM is close by to give you access to sports facilities for badminton, tennis and squash.

Working While Studying

If you would like to gain some work experience, you may be able to work while you are studying.

Working on campus

At APU, we have on-campus part-time working opportunities for students - library assistant, IT labs technical assistant, programmer, multimedia developer, and Student Ambassadors. Availability depends on the vacancies that we have for these positions throughout the year. Most of these working opportunities require that you have been an APU student for a minimum of 1 semester, are fluent in English, and have the ability to work in teams. Check this site regularly for notices of new openings.

There is no open position at this time. For consideration of any future opening, submit your resume / CV to us by completing this form.

Working off campus

Besides the work opportunities on campus, you can also engage in part-time work outside campus provided you have the approval. However, your studies must always remain your primary priority as International students are not allowed to work in Malaysia while studying.

For international students, you must have a valid Student Pass and be on a semester break of more than 7 days. This allows you to work up to 20 hours a week with a student work permit approval from the Malaysian Immigration Office. Please note that this is under very strict guidelines and you should consult Student Services on this matter.
